The Wings haircut or flippies or flow are popular hairstyles used in skateboarding, surfer, and preppy communities. Usually long, the force can range from long and sag under the eyes, to a shorter length. Haircuts are usually wavy and, if straight, reach half the ear length. Instead of lying in the wearer's ear, his hair hit and went out like an airplane wing, that was his name. Hairstyles were popular among men in the 1960s, 1970s, 2000s, and early 2010s.

Origins

This hairstyle was first worn by Victorian men from the 1830s to the 1890s, usually with a beard or muttonchop. From the end of World War I until the pompadour became popular in the 1950s the younger man cut their hair very short for the athletic appearance although longer hair continued to be worn by some older men who were born before 1890, like Western actor George " Gabby "Hayes.

During the 1920s wing haircuts were used as an alternative to bob haircuts and pageboy hairstyles by flapper and young children of both sexes. It remained popular during the war years for practicality when women worked in factories. After the war, female hair grew longer until the 1960s when her hair returned among younger women like Twiggy and continued to wear in the 1970s.

Popularity among youth subcultures

In the early 1960s the wing haircut made a comeback between the Beatnik and the surfer's subculture that allowed their hair to grow bushy and unorganized. Rock bands like The Rolling Stones and The Beatles copied this look, which spread to America during the British Invasion and was worn by bands like The Monkees and The Byrds.

In the mid-1960s the wing hair cut was worn by mod subculture to distinguish them from older generations and Rocker who liked Brylcreeme's hair like pompadour. In the late 1960s the hippies grew their hair as a protest against the Vietnam War.

From the early 1970s until being replaced by quiffs in the early 1980s wing hair styles were common among teenagers and young men, while those with curly hair wore afro. However, in the 1990s, short buzzing hair, remained so for teens until the mid-2000s when the wing haircut, along with the 1960s inspired vintage clothing, made a comeback among indie pop fans. Children's scenes imitate the look, coloring their hair with brightly colored lines and sprouting longer backs. Emos combine fringes or bangs and dye their hair into black while preppies copying a more neat, more stylish version worn by pop singers like Justin Bieber or Harry Styles from One Direction.

Styling

This hair style can also be done by wearing a hat, causing curved hair up and up, or styled with hair pengikal The easiest way to get this look is to first cut the hair to be shorter. long, most often just above the ear. Before cutting, ask for a razor-coated piece, and for hairy hair on the edges. This will make the hair flip easily.

After the hair is cut, wet hair with a bath. Then grab a towel and dry the hair by rubbing the towel with excitement until the hair is mostly dry (it should still be a bit wet) and stand up. Wear the hat forwards (backward usually does not work either) and dry the hair until the hair is reversed as desired. To maintain it, hairspray can be used, although if the hair is short enough, it should be allowed to reverse by itself.
