A Shenandoah is a facial hairstyle or a beard. Hair grows full and long above the jaw and chin, meet with sideburns but has no mustache.
Other names for this style are, in alphabetical order, curtain chin, Donegal, Lincoln, and shovel beard. Other names used are Amish or Whaler beards. Shenandoah tends to be somewhat longer than the curtain of the chin.
The beard curtain chin is a certain style of facial hair that grows along the jaw line and completely covers the chin. It does not get confused with a chinstrap beard - a similar beard style that also grows along the jaw line but does not completely cover the chin. In addition, many chin blinds do not widen far below the jaw line, if at all, while all the chinstrap beards in general.
This facial hair style is made famous by individuals like Abraham Lincoln and C. Everett Koop.
In Spain, it can be closely related to the 1970s progress and other cultural icons, such as the author ÃÆ' lvaro Pombo.
In the United States, this beard style remains common among married Amish men. The members of the sect men commonly cultivated beards after baptism, but shaved their mustache, since they were usually associated with military service during the American Civil War, which they opposed.
