Michelle Tam is an American blogger, food writer, and bestselling cookbook known as prescription and dietary-based diet and Paleolithic lifestyle.

Looking to see the online reflected adoption diet and lifestyle, Tam launched her food blog, Nom Nom Paleo, in October 2010. Noted for her humor, high quality recipes, and distinctive photography, Tam's website has received numerous awards, including Saveur Magazine Best Food Food Award (Special Diet). In autumn 2014, Nom Nom Paleo receives 110,000 page views per day (3.3 million page views per month), with The New York Times referring to Tam as "something from Martha Stewart from Paleo."

Tam's first cookbook, Nom Nom Paleo: Food for Humans, became a New York Times bestseller, and is recognized as one of the best cookbooks of 2013, as well as one of the finest cookbooks of 2014 by Serious Eating and American Test Kitchen. Six months after the release of the recipe book, Tam publishers reported that on the seventh printing, with 150,000 copies in print. In March 2015, Tam's cookbook was nominated for the James Beard Foundation Awards.

In 2014, Paleo's app cooking Tam's Nom Nom for iPhone and iPad won the Voice-Free Web Award for People in the Lifestyle category (Tablet & All Other Devices).

Tam's second cookbook, Ready or Not! , debuted in August 2017 on the New York Times bestseller list, and reached # 1 on the Best Wallet Journal List Weekly Publisher List of Bestsellers for Nonfiction Hardcover.

Famous for its focus on the Paleo lifestyle, Tam is also widely recognized as "the earliest adherent of sous vide cooking" and "early conversion" to cook Pot Instant pressures. Tam also received praise from renowned culinary professionals such as Michael Ruhlman and Christopher Kimball. Tam and his work have been featured on various media, including CBS This Morning, Bon Appà ©  tit, Serious Eats, The Kitchn, Epicurious, Sunset Magazine, The New Yorker, and The Food Network. He maintains a partnership with Whole Foods Market, which has featured recipes and product selections at store locations and online.

Personal life

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Tam received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley. After earning his Pharmacy Doctorate degree from the University of California, San Francisco, he worked as a full-time night hospital pharmacy. Tam married her co-author and collaborator, Henry Fong. Together with their two sons, they divide the time between Palo Alto, California and Portland, Oregon.
