The NYC Condom, funded by the New York City Department of Health, is a program run by the New York City Department of Health and Hygiene to distribute free condoms.

Launch
NYC Condom launched on Valentine's Day 2007 with a highly successful media campaign across the city including bilingual subway ads, radio venues, club launch parties, and street teams that distribute NYC Condom in high pedestrian traffic spots throughout city.

Distribution
Six months after the opening of NYC Condom, monthly average monthly condom distribution increased from 1.5 million to over 3 million condoms per month.
In addition to male condoms, the NYC Condom program distributes women's condoms and water-based personal lubricants.
On Valentine's Day 2011, the New York City Department of Health launched a smart phone app that directs users to the nearest source of free NYC Condoms.
A 2012 report found NYC Condoms smuggled out of town and sold illegally to profit in places like the Dominican Republic.
Design
In 2008, industry designer Yves Behar redesigned NYC Condom's logo and packaging, as well as the NYC Condom vending machine to be placed around the city.
In 2010, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Health held a contest to design a limited edition condom wrap. The winning entry, by designer Luis Acosta, is based on the computer's power button and begins its distribution in Autumn 2010.
Production
NYC Condoms changed its name to LifeStyles Condoms.
