Robert and Cortney Novogratz , known collectively as The Novogratz , are a Los Angeles-based husband and wife design team. They are the parents of seven children: Wolfgang, Bellamy, Tallulah, Breaker, Five, Holleder, and Major. The Novogratz started their career in Manhattan by reversing real estate and is now a successful interior designer and product.

Robert grew up in Alexandria, VA (February 11, 1963) and Cortney in southern Georgia (September 8, 1971). Both come from large families and have parents who adorn fans. The couple met in Charlotte, North Carolina, moved to New York City and entered the design world through real estate. Robert is a sports fan.

Careers
They started their design career by renovating the damaged property in Manhattan. Their work combines the use of distinctive architectural details, unique interior finishes, and rare collectibles found while traveling to flea markets around the world. They are known for their distinctive style, which mixes vintage/modern high/low pieces. One of their flagship works is the 5 Center Market Place, converted from a former weapons store located on the edge of Soho. In addition to the Market Center, the design of the couple from two properties, also in Soho, on Thompson Street sold for a record price. Novogratz moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2014, where they bought and renovated the house in Hollywood Hills.
In addition to designing and renovating their private home, The Novogratz designed private residences for A-list clients, as well as design boutique hotels. Boutique hotel work includes Hotel Dylan, LULU at W Hoboken, Bungalow Hotel, and Timber Cove. Novogratz recently completed a children's room at Ten Thousand, a luxury apartment building in Beverly Hills, CA, and is working on a 250-unit condo in East Boston.
Novogratz has a successful product line with CB2, The Shade Store, Walmart, Wayfair, Amazon, and Overstock, to name a few major retailers.

9 By Design
In 2009, the television network, Bravo TV, featured the life of The Novogratz in a TV reality show, 9 By Design . The show follows their lives, raising 7 children in Manhattan while running a design company. The show aired on 13 April 2009 and lasted for a season.
House by Novogratz
After the interest generated from 9 By Design , The Novogratz returned to television with a new show at HGTV, which showcased their unique unique design aesthetic. Season 1 of Home by Novogratz aired on July 16, 2011. HGTV accurately described the premise of the show, "In each episode, Robert and Cortney took on a new design project and created a truly unique, very original space which showcase their funky aesthetics, their chic downtown, earthy design sense, and their self-taught style, those who are desperate, they will learn about the work, bring together an eclectic mix of shopping invention and, in the end, present clients with spectacular spaces and completely customizable that goes beyond any expectation ". The second season of Home by Novogratz airs in 2012 and includes room renovations owned by Wendy Williams, Pioneer Woman and Tony Hawk.

In May 2009, the first book of Robert and Cortney, Downtown Chic , was published worldwide from Rizzoli. It describes their signature style as a modern but bohemian blend of high and low, new and old, and they offer realistic suggestions on how to create original and warm interiors with ease. One part of a practical guide, an inspirational volume section for creating a home, this book contains funny anecdotes about traps and recreational pleasures with treasures of decorative tips: how to use boutiques and flea market finds; how to inject a lot of personalities into the room at an affordable price; how to decorate children's rooms so they appeal to children and adults; easy way to rehabilitate obsolete furniture; and many more.
Home by Novogratz
In October 2012, Robert and Cortney's second book, Home by Novogratz , was published worldwide by Artisan. In this book, Robert and Cortney provide insights into their twenty favorite projects to show readers how to get their "vintage modern" style of signature. It shows how the couple easily mixes contemporary furniture with thrift stores, and provides tips for creating stylish homes no matter what the obstacles: seven children, small space, or small budget.
Beachside Bohemian: Easy Living By the Sea - A Designer Couple Protection for Family and Friends
In October 2016, the third book of Robert and Cortney, Beachside Bohemian , was published worldwide by Rizzoli. It's dedicated to one of their favorite places to spend time with their family: their holiday home in the stranded outpost of Trancoso beach, Brazil. Turning a dilapidated house into a sanctuary for family and friends, readers see the relaxed and family-focused style of Novogratzes in its purest and most relaxed form. Filled with decorative and entertaining ideas that easily translate from the holiday vibe to "real life" back home, the good couple live well, wearing sandals and bare feet, and never sweating. In addition to offering superb decorating suggestions for every room at home and outdoors (including tree houses) they have advice on how to make a holiday home pay for itself - advising that small touches get bigger while creating the most enjoyable experience for guests and tenants.
